10 Days of Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your disciples as you returned to the Father: "I leave you peace, my peace I give you.” Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and give us the strength to work as disciples of peace. Remove from among us hostility, hatred, resentment, lack of understanding, and place within us instead hearts willing to forgive, accept, understand and cherish others. Bless us with the spiritual gifts of wisdom, understanding, judgment and courage, empowering us to end the modern world afflictions of conflict, discrimination, human rights violations, environmental destruction and killing. And also enable us to understand and help people suffering from sickness, disability, poverty and loneliness. May the Holy Spirit enlighten, guide and encourage us to unite our strength and face together the many challenges that confront us. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, Amen.
